Rena Grant

“Wisdom is the art of balancing the known with the unknown, the suffering with the joy; it is a way of linking the whole of life together in a new and deeper unity . . . Wisdom is the art of living in rhythm with your soul, your life, and the divine.”

- From Anam Cara by John O’Donohue.

Rena Grant is a Catholic layperson who received her formation through the spiritual direction program at Mercy Center, Burlingame. She has a master's degree in counseling.

She considers accompanying others on their spiritual journey through spiritual direction as a privilege and gift.

Rena has accompanied many people on various faith journeys ranging from those who are awakening to a new spirituality or who have been alienated from their faith to those who seek an even deeper connection with God. Areas of focus in her direction ministry include guided meditation, journaling, art and creativity, and dream work.

Formerly in education for 15 years, Rena has been steeped in Franciscan spirituality for the past 12 years. She is involved in the retreat ministry, has facilitated pilgrimages to Italy, practices and teaches meditation, contemplative living, lectio divina (sacred reading of scripture), and art and spirituality.

Rena is available to serve as a facilitator or consultant for:

Sacred Stories, Our Stories
Presented as a one day retreat 9:30 – 4:00 or in a two-morning session for 3 hours each.

Sacred stories evoke different responses within us.  Stories contain powerful symbol which speak to the core of who we are. Weaving connections from the symbols in the story to our own life can provide powerful insights and growth. Prayer, ritual, individual reflection, small and large group discussions.

Stillness, Silence & Simplicity

Come away from the hurried pace of everyday life.  Develop interludes of stillness and silence in your hectic life by participating in contemplative ways of praying. In a nurturing environment, take the opportunity to simply be and savor your relationship with God.
